The new Israeli Nation State law continues to gain International focus and condemnation. Though Israel chafes at the mere hint that it is an Apartheid state, the Nation State law boldly sets in Israeli law the legal structure for an Apartheid state. In the age of Trump and Netanyahu, where black is white and up is down, the so called “only democratic state in the Middle East” is, by law, a classic apartheid, antidemocratic state. It is now set down in black and white in the Israeli law books.

This week we again take a long and hard look at what this law really does, the society it really sets by law, and in particular what it means to the Palestinian people living under occupation in this apartheid state. Today we hear a presentation by Alice Rothchild and Fady Khoury, recorded at the Community Church of Boston. Their focus? the effects of the Nation State law.

Old friend Alice Rothchild is a retired physician who now spends her time writing books and articles on the Middle East, making films and speaking throughout the country.

Fady Khoury is a civil and political rights attorney with the Adalah Law Center in Haifa. He also is Doctoral candidate at the Harvard Law School.
