The big automakers make all their plans behind closed doors. They shut plants when it suits them. General Motors, Oshawa is a case in point.

But a new mood is growing within organized labour and in the communities that find themselves on the short end of the stick. Talk of a Green New Deal is opening people's eyes to the possibility of putting the community first, creating electric automobiles for example.
