Eric Mann is introduced by Kikanza Ramsey of the Labor Community Strategy Center, and other members of the LCSC, Elena Astilleros and Damon Azali, speak about their political work and perspectives following his presentation.
Mann points out where the two parties are unacceptably identical, but also highlights real world differences between Kerry and Bush that are of immediate importance to political organizing on the left. He critiques the approach of the Greens and the Nader/Camejo ticket, whom he describes as allies in any left movement, but with whom he disagrees tactically, giving concrete reasons for the disagreement. This talk is a valuable contribution to the ongoing debate on the left on tactics and long-term vision for effecting political change in the U.S.
