Listen to an interview with Mansour Mansour, a coordinator with the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) in Palestine.
Produced for the CKUT (90.3FM) community news collective in Montreal by Aaron Lakoff (aaron@resist.ca).
November 9-16, 2005, marks the 3rd national and international week of action against the Apartheid Wall. Hundreds of actions are planned throughout Palestine, Israel, and the rest of the world against this wall, which has been ruled illegal by the International Court of Justice in July, 2004.
We spoke with Mansour Mansour, a coordinator with the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) in Biddu in the West Bank. Mansour has been a key organizer in the non-violent demonstrations against the wall in the city of Bil'in. Since February 2005, Bil'in has been holding weekly demonstrations against the wall which, even before its completion, is taking a devastating effect on the small village's land.
Mansour gives us an update on the actions in Bil'in, comments on actions taking place in Montreal and throghout the world, and offers his opinion on Ariel Sharon being invited to speak in Toronto next week.
This interview was also aired in the streets of Montreal during a demonstration against the Apartheid Wall and in solidarity with the Palestinian people on November 12th.
