As we look back at the 20th century, we invariably find ourselves focusing on the many conflicts, wars, and battles that so clearly define the period. In fact, many historians have dubbed it "The Bloody Century". As people's historian Howard Zinn has noted, conventional retrospectives and histories tend to focus on wars and those who fight and win them. Comparatively little attention, however, is paid to the civilians who suffer in war, and even less to those who oppose war or refuse to participate in it. And so, as a new century unfolds, Bruderhof Radio presents a three-part series featuring men and women who have opposed war, and the machinery that drives it. In this program, we speak with four members of the "World War Two Generation", all of whom opposed and spoke out against WW2 in some way. Two of our guests are British; two are American.
