John Judge is an acclaimed researcher and lecturer. He is co-founder of the Committee for Open Archives and the Coalition on Political Assassinations. He helped draft legislation that led to the declassification of government documents on the assassination of John F. Kennedy. He is now working on legislation to declassify documents relating to the life, work and the assassination of Martin Luther King.

The release of documents on John F. Kennedy came about because of a huge public demand for openness, triggered by the movie by Oliver Stone. A similar popular movement might bring us open access - not just to the King assassination - but break the stranglehold of secrecy that allows the political class in the US to operate with impunity.
