Opinions about technology, its use and abuse, have been around for centuries. But with the rise of a global economy that threatens to erase national borders and time zones, technology, and those who control it, have the ability to effect millions of people like never before. In this program, we'll discuss the politics of technology, and ask questions such as: who decides which technologies get developed and which fall by the wayside? Is there a point at which technology begins causing division and breakdown in society, rather than providing positive solutions? And, can ordinary citizens become more involved in the vital process of science and technology decision-making, or are they doomed to operate under the control of the corporations that control this technology?

Featuring: Jill Chopyak of the Loka Institute (www.loka.org); Lloyd Dumas of the University of Texas, and author of "Lethal Arrogance: Human Fallibility and Dangerous Technologies"; Jerry Mander of the International Forum on Globalization (www.ifg.org); and Andy Kimbrell of the International Center for Technology Assessment (www.icta.org)
