IN STORMY WEATHER THIS FRIDAY, AROUND ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY EAST ORANGE, NEW JERSEY, RESIDENTS AND COMMUNITYACTIVISTS MARCHED FROM CITY HALL TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND BACK TO PROTEST POLICE BRUTALITY AND DEMAND THE FIRING OF OFFICER GILES, WHO, LAST JUNE TWISTED AND BROKE THE ARM OF A 12 YEAR OLD GIRL WHO WAS WALKING HOME FROM SCHOOL.
CALLED BY THE PEOPLE’S ORGANIZATION FOR PROGRESS, THE COMMUNITY PROTEST COMES IN THE WAKE OF THE INDICTMENT OF THREE EAST ORANGE OFFICERS, THIS PAST WEDNESDAY, ON 23 COUNTS, INCLUDING KIDNAPPING AND ASSAULT ON FOUR TEENAGE BOYS IN MAY OF THIS YEAR.
