Much has been said about dying, though in the contemporary western tradition it is shunned by most. Here in Amerika the body of literature on the subject is heavily weighted toward the christian priestly cast and thus spun or captured by their limited views and sometimes-nefarious desires of power over others.
This compilation is from various sources and wisdom traditions and depends greatly on the power of story, to attempt to comfort those that are dying or those that have recently experienced a death of someone close to them. Some of the materials contained within were in fact presented for use to those working with hospice.
A touch of humor as well as some great archetypical stories interwoven with appropriate music throughout. A good part of the work utilizes stories recorded by Jungian psychologist Clarissa Pinkola Estes.
Dedicated to Carlota Velarae who passed on 12/4/08, a great healer, a wonderful friend and loved by many.
