GUEST? John Dugard is a South African-born international law professor now teaching in America. From 2001 until March last year, he was the UN's Special Human Rights Rapporteur for Occupied Palestine and a rare public official for assessing conditions honestly on the ground.
For his efforts, he's been praised and criticized. Extremists even condemn him for reports like in September 2006 saying that the "standards of human rights in the Palestinian territories have fallen to intolerable new levels."
Dugard's humanitarian work and his thoughts on a range of issues will be discussed.
