"Fear Itself" Loudon Wainwright III

Interview of Alex Smith by Trevor VanHemert, Evolution 107.9 BCIT College Radio
Dr. Peter Ward teaches at the University of Washington, while continuing his research trips all over the world. The broad public still hasn't absorbed his groundbreaking explanation of why land animals were killed off in such great numbers, in past extinction events.

Read Ward's book "Under A Green Sky". Ward tried to reach the public through a series on mass extinctions on the TV show "Animal Planet" in early 2009. He's also advised NASA.

Ward's newest work, in the book "The Medea Hypothesis" counters James Lovelock's Gaia hypothesis. You might not like Ward's conclusion: that humans must take control of the atmosphere to survive.

Ward also introduces some of the breaking science of the last two years. For example, life will die off on Earth, in a half billion years of so - because of too LITTLE carbon dioxide. Ironic, hmmm?
