Dahr Jamail's 9/20/09 talk in Hartford CT on our soldiers' resistance against Bush/Obama's wars. Plus reflections by KD on ye olde Vietnam War Days that corroborate ALL of Dahr's main points. Even the most profitable wars have to end (Wall Street be damned!) when enough soldiers rebel--and civilians can aid, abet, and augment the rebellion. We DID, in the early 1970s. Unfortunately, we need to do it again.
Numerous local grassroots organizations sponsored Jamails tour of eastern and central Connecticut in September, especially the Connecticut Coalition for Peace and Justice. Thanks to all . . . by no means excluding Dori Smith, of "Talk Nation Radio" (www.talknationradio.org). See TNR for more words from Jamail and other good stuff. "New World Notes" does a lot of hanging out at WWUH-FM, a community service of the University of Hartford.
The radio program plays an edited, condensed (by me), 9-minute version of Dahr's talk in Bushnell Park. For the record, I'll upload also the uncut (16-minute + intros) version of the talk.
