The Editor in Chief of East Palo Alto Today Henrietta J. Burroughs and East Palo Alto's Chief of Police Ron Davis made guest appearances on the Shedding Light show with host Byrd. The three of them discussed the Culture of the Hood and the Culture of the Brotherhood with respect to the No Snitching policy and the Code of Silence which characterize the two cultures, respectively.
In their groundbreaking discussion, which included questions from Hale and Burroughs, Davis talked about the work he does with the U.S. Justice Department in examining and investigating police departments throughout the country and the steps that he is currently taking to improve police relations within the East Palo Alto community. These are a few steps he believes the policing profession should consider to improve departments and to improve the public’s perception of the police.
