This is a 64 kbs version of a weekly program which began on a now defunct low power FM station (KSOW) in Cottage Grove, OR Since there seems to be some interest in the show I have decided to continue . In this connection I will post a new show by Tuesday or Wednesday of each week. I will post a new show by Tuesday or Wednesday of each week. There is also a 128 bit version.
In the main, each episode consists of four approximately 30-minute long programs (not always, as sometimes I use a longer form show, so it may be 3 or fewer) and some filler to bring them in at 120 minutes. .
Broadcast Advisories
Use these programs in any way that suits you, commercial, non-commercial (well,don't sell it). Use them on your low power FM station or your AM station. Stream it on your internet station or stream. Whatever. Edit them if you want to, however you want to! I'm easy. In a few cases commercials have been left in but in those cases there is disclaimer stating that they are there for "historical perspective" only. I have edited out any underwriter spots that once existed. There is no comment about run times ( i.e. "It's Sunday night at 10 pm and this is Night Transmissions.") Also I have edited out any mention of the town I live in. In other words I have endeavored to make make these programs as "Evergreen" and global as possible. I would even consider making (at some point) shows that are tailored to some degree for specific locations. In most cases the mp3 file runs a little longer than 120 minutes. However, in all cases the main show comes in at under 120 minutes; anything in excess of 120 minutes is just music that can safely be faded out.
As of show 21 there are 30 second musical interludes at 30,60 and 90 minutes. with the last 5 to 10 minutes or so of the show uninterrupted music that can be faded out on without too much ado, Exact times will be in the mp3 comment tag

Segment One:
Is an episode from the series Escape that aired on November the first of 1949. The story is called, "Flood on the Goodwins". In this story a fishing boat on an errand of nercy in the English Channel is hijacked by a Nazi saboteur. Which, of course, is a very promising development for any radio adventure program. In the beginning the Nazi Rat fink attempts subterfuge. So, at first the English sailors are cooperative believing the Nazi's lies that he is a secret agent who needs to get to Belgium. However, they quickly become suspicious and when they refuse any futher cooperation it quickly turns to gun play. The Nazi forces them onto their boat where he joins them. It Soon becomes evident that he is indeed a secret agent. A Nazi secret agent, who needs to get back to Germany after completeing his mission.
Do they find a way to outsmart him and foil his mission?
"Flood on the Goodwins" was adapted for Escape by James Poe from a story by David Divine. William N. Robson produced/directed. Starring were: Jack Edwards ,Will Geer , Barton Yarborough , Betty Lou Gerson and Eric Snowden.
Segment Two:
From the BBC Production Price Of Fear we have, "The Man Who Hated Scenes". This episode first aired on September 29 of 1973. In this outing Vincent Price is traveling again, ( He usealy is in these stories.) this time by train. When he meets , as seems to be his habit on these journeys, someone with a macabre tale and a desire to burden poor Vincent with his secret. In this case it is a story of love gone awry and marriage vows betrayed .
This is another good episode from this far above average series. This time costarring an actor well-known to all of us, Peter Cushing.
Segment Three:
Is an episode of The CBS Radio Workshop entitled "A Pride of Carrots (or Venus Well Served)." which deals with, quite amusingly, humanity and CBS's first contact with the inhabitants of the planet Venus.
This episode is a well done satire of American society in the late 1950s ( And a story that is by no means irrelevant today.) . It turns out to be a mixed bag of fruits and nuts.
Written and narrated by novelist and poet Robert Nathan . This episode originally aired on September 14th of 1956 and would also later appear in The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction for the December of 1959 issue.
The CBS Radio Workshop billed itself as âradioâs distinguished series to manâs imaginationâ . Now well remembered for its excellence The CBS Radio Workshop was an often experimental program one. A program that prided itself in its presentation of a wide range of genres (containing a good deal of Speculative Fiction). It was modeled after The Columbia Workshop employing many of the same writers and directors.
Segment Four:
Is from H. P. Lovecraft . It's one of his early stories, The Crawling Chaos This short story is from the LibriVox project and read or us by Joseph Canna. The Crawling Chaos was first published April 1921 in the United Cooperative. there is a credit for a co-author, Winifred V. Jackson (aka Elizabeth Berkeley)
Lovecraft's readership was limited during his life and for a while afterwards, but his ideas and works, including the Cthulhu Mythos, have become hugely influential over the last 50 years or so. His starkly bleak philosophy informs every tale he wrote. Lovecraft emphasized the absolute insignificance of humanity and its ignorance of the forces governing an incomprehensible and terrifying .
