I have had the opportunity and good fortune to listen to, and become curious from hearing my mother, Lillian Brown Vogel, our guest on this edition of Radio Curious, ask questions. I remember as a child hearing her get to the heart of the matter with a few simple questions. And on reflection, that helped put me on my curious path in my life.
My mother and our family celebrated her 100th birthday in September of 2009, a few days after her book, “What’s My Secret? Memories and Reflections of a Long Life,” was published. At first, in preparing for this interview, I was uncertain how to proceed, but then curiosity prevailed and I realized we could begin by inquiring what makes her curious.

The book, my mother, Lillian Brown Vogel recommends is “The Blue Tattoo: The Life of Olive Oatman.”
