AS THE WAR IN AFGHANISTAN ENTERS ITS 10 TH YEAR, COALITION AND CIVILIAN CASUALTIES CONTINUE TO GROW WITH NO END IN SIGHT. THIS PAST THURSDAY, HUNDREDS ANSWERED A CALL BY VETERANS FOR PEACE AND OTHER ANTI-WAR GROUPS AND CONVERGED ON THE WHITE HOUSE TO DEMAND AN END TO THE WAR.
ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY ONE, MOSTLY MILITARY VETERANS, WERE ARRESTED.
IN NEW YORK, A CROWD OF AT LEAST A HUNDRED SET UP A VIGIL IN FRONT OF THE TIMES SQUARE MILITARY RECRUITING CENTER, UNDER HEAVY POLICE PRESENCE.
