A movement to challenge corporate-controlled media while also developing independent news and information organizations has grown steadily over the past few years. This "making Contact" features media activists and journalists who are concerned about the state of media. Jessica gGlass of the New York Free Media ALliance talks about the "Media Mogul Tour" held in new York during the Media and Democracy Congress this past October. Listeners will also hear sounds from the tour including a speech by investigative journalist Karl Grossman. Danny Schechter of Globalvision, a television production company, discusses the history of his organization and his new book, The More You Watch, The Less You Know. Jeff Cohen of the media watch group FAIR, share his thoughts on what consumers of media can do to challenge corporate control of news and information. Also,a report from Haiti on Radyo Timoun, a microbroadcasting station run by youth.
