I found the first part of Doc Ellis's SUMMER LECTURES series last week, so here it is--out of sequence, but 100% worthwhile!

Believe me, seekers, this is input that you can use for Yeti survival. A little Doc'll do ya.

Yeah, Doc's Summer Lectures... DAMNED if I know the titles of any of these rants, but they are fucking sterling examples of his craft. With his Aspergian detachment, the Lymph Node Institute's Doc P. Ellis could survey the pseudo-human condition with such an astute, sharply focused eye and analyze the rat-maze we're stuck in with a crystalline clarity that still gleams a decade+ later. I'm just guessing at most of the titles of these, and I'm clueless about some of the musical segues. I DO know it's Dr Bugbladder making the hideous noises and effects behind Doc's lectures, though. That's Bugsy's secret superpower.

The first lecture is the Post-X-Day '98 ReEntry Status report from Myanmar (don't ask).

Next comes Doc's Joke Rant. That's what he called it, I remember.

Then there's what I'm calling "Six Simple Therapeutic Machines," his brilliant analysis of the classic Six Simple Machines integrated into a system of psychological therapies for Yetis. Take your pick-- Doc explains the benefits and pitfalls of each so you can tailor your regime to your own particular needs/weaknesses.

Then there's the "Chinese FingerTrap Rant." That's his title. More crucial survival techniques explained and Conspiracy snare exposed.

And the "X-Day '98 Failure Assessment." That's my title for it, because that's exactly what it is--a report after the ashes of our non-Apocalypse were sifted. Doc finds the BlackBox of the UFO that DIDN'T come for us and analyzes what the FUCK went wrong with the Church's plans for global Armageddon.

Interspersed through it are songs such as James Kochalka's anthem "Monkey versus Robot," And a version Of CSN's "Ohio" that sounds like DEVO, or perhaps a DEVO cover band from the NNBBM collection.

Who's "Bob" you ask? What's Slack, you ask? What's next, you're gonna ask what FUN is??? Pull your head out of your ass and render it unto the tender ministrations of the Flooze as she washes your brain with that hyperbolic cocktail of hypgnotic collages and the kind of grade-A bulldada that you'll need to survive these New Dark Ages.
