Microradio activist and scholar Ron Sakolsky opens the Reclaim the Media conference with a talk introducing his new work on the history of the Surrealist movement in the United States, and celebrating the intersection of radical art and radical politics, and public participation in making media. Sakolsky is the author or editor of several books, including "Seizing the Airwaves: a Free Radio Handbook" (with Stephen Dunifer), "Sounding Off: Music as subversion/resistance/revolution" (with Fred Ho) and "Surrealist Subversions" (Autonomedia, 2002).
