I had a chance to see Quincy Jones give a talk last weekend. In preparation for the talk I decided to learn a little bit more about the man than I had picked up in the headlines. I listened to tons of his early jazz recordings, his soundtrack work, the artist he produced and arranged and discovered he is quite a fascinating musician. He was quite charming and funny in person as well.
