Sorry I missed last week. I was visiting a some friends in NYC. While away I landed on the theme for tonight's show. It's a NYC show of sorts. I'll spend the first hour playing Woody Guthrie covers and tracks. Woody lived in NYC in the 40s and his time there had a real impact on his music and songwriting. I'll spotlight Jay Farrar's latest release, New Multitides, a project similar to his ex-bandmate's Mermaid Avenue. I'll also find time in the first hour for new releases from Springsteen, the Carolina Chocolate Drops, and Justin Townes Earle.
In the second hour I'll play some tracks recognized by Time Out New York magazine as some of the 100 Best Songs about NYC. So sit back and enjoy.
