This is the first of two Firesign Theatre tribute shows commemorating the passing of Firesign extraordinaire Peter Bergman. Although almost every episode of 40 Acres & A Clone Mule includes some Firesign snippets mixed in, this show has much more of them and they're a bit higher in the mix.
Of course, those who have not heard Firesign Theatre before should check out one of these classic entire albums in one sitting: How You Can Be In Two Places At Once When You're Not Anywhere At All, I Think We're All Bozos On This Bus, The Giant Rat of Sumatra, Everything You Know Is Wrong or In The Next World You're On Your Own.

I should note that Firesign archivist Taylor Jessen is a former deejay at 40ACM's originating station, KUOI-FM 89.3 in Moscow, Idaho. More on that next week.

40 Acres & A Clone Mule is a weekly music and sound montage show with a strong political bent. It is heard on KUOI-FM in Moscow, Idaho Fridays from approx. 4-6 pm (some weeks 3:30 - 6pm so tune in early) Pacific Time, and can be heard live on the web (www.kuoi.org).

All station ID's, Weather & Local Announcements have been scrubbed or otherwise artistically obliterated.

My New Year's resolution is to post a show every week during 2012. They'll either be classic shows from 2011 or before, or up to date shows referencing current events. Mostly about the intersection of music and socially-relevant sound montage.

Show lengths will be approx. 1 hr, 50 min. or approx. 2 hrs, 10 min., depending on the lead-in show when originally broadcast. FCC safe, but probably work well as late night listening. I hope some stations decide to pick it up.
