In an unrehearsed Q&A, Professor NOAM CHOMSKY addresses three probing questions on today's political and economic situation. His repy to each queston is a detailed, brilliant, and very interesting mini-lecture. Chomsky discusses (1) how intellectuals almost always support Established Power, (2) how the U.S. got into our current economic mess, and (3) what are the best solutions to the crisis of Palestine. The Q&A took place in London in March 2011.
"New World Notes" is produced under the auspices (Latin for "counter") of WWUH-FM, a community service of that beacon of light in darkest Connecticut, the University of Hartford.
The audio is taken from a 45-minute video in which Chomsky answers six questions. I have gently edited the passages I selected (removing hesitations and stumbles). The complete video is available from The Internet Archive: http://archive.org/details/NoamChomsky-6QuestionersMarch2011 .
