Episode 24: The Night KillRadio Became AKILRADIO
I'm sorry, but you would have to be brain dead, deaf or a true hip-hop hater to not appreciate the sheer boom-bap brilliance of this week's Unseen Legion Radio. Not only did DJ EARL-E drop strictly hip-hop all night, but BIN GRIM brought through his good friend AKIL THE MC (yes... the incredibly skilled Jurassic 5 veteran MC), along with a few of their friends. Needless to say, the vibe was lovely off the top. The off-the-top flows soon followed, and that wasn't the only thing being put in the air. MC PROSE & YESKI helped welcome Akil, THAI STRONG, graphic artist JERRARD SCOTT JOSEPH & graffiti legend KING CRE8 to what turned into an almost 5 hour session that Akil called the most comfortable he's ever been on the radio. It showed, too as he and the rest of the fellas stayed until the end of the extended mix and even dropped an extended mix freestyle that we'll just have to leak somewhere (psst... hit up UnseenLegionradio Inasoulbianz on facebook and ask to get added to the secret page). King Cre8 gave us a report on the gigantic mural he and the rest of the RTN Crew put up in only 2 days on the famous Slauson Wall and throug hit all DJ Earl-E and Akil kept the music just right like the little bear's porridge with J Dilla providing the musical breaks.
