In the lead up to the May 25 Day of Action Against Monsanto, the Global Research NEws Hour shines a spotlight on the legacy of Monsanto and genetically modified organisms. Sandra Finley is an activist, researcher, and writer and the former leader of the Green Party of Saskatchewan. She has lived most of her life in the Canadian agricultural province of Saskatchewan. She comments on the changes brought about by the industrialization of agriculture, and on how university research has been coopted by partnerships with the agrichemical companies. Dr. Vandana Shiva offers a speech on the impacts of Monsanto and seed patenting on Indian farmers. William Engdahl, geo-political analyst and author of the book "Seeds of Destruction: The Hidden Agenda of Genetic Manipulation" joins us in the final half hour to present his research which points to the roots of this technology in the Rockefeller family, eugenics and the desire to control all food production.
