Scott Taylor relies on his extensive experience in Iraq to counter Canadian Foreign Minister John Baird's committing military contingency to the Kurdish region in northern Iraq.

Baird explains that the Canadians are not familiar with the complexity of the conflicts or the tribes in Iraq, Kurdistan, eastern Turkey. They are not ready for the "trip wires" they will encounter. This is not a good guy vs bad guy situation. It is a prison knife fight under blackout conditions.

Baird is committing Canada to Pandora's Box from which the lid has long since been removed.
