Phil interviews Cynthia Hess-von Kruedener, widow of Canadian Army Major Paeta Hess-von Kruedener, killed in 2006 along with 3 other UN personnel after Israel attacked a 30-year-old marked UN observation post, despite repeated radio entreaties to stop.
Cynthia relates why she spoke up after the inaction by the Canadian government, and her efforts to uncover the truth. "Ultimately...the bottom line is that the Israelis bombed a [UN observation] post. There was no accountability."
The report on Von Kruedener's death was released for a period of time, but was afterwards suppressed. Hard copies were taken out of military libraries, but the board of inquiry report has been restored online.
This is a Canadian non-partisan issue. Where is the opposition to the government's continuing obfustication of Von Kruedener's death? Cynthia describes her emotional visit to the site of the bombing, her first such trip.
