Before the main feature today, we begin with an interesting news dispatch out of Palestine as reported by the news service Mondoweiss. It reports that the PLO has announced that it is opting out of the one-sided joint "security" arrangement with Israel, perhaps as a lever to get its rightfully owned and needed funds unfrozen.
For the actual article, "Palestinian leaders vote to end security coordination with Israel, a cornerstone of Oslo and the occupation," by Allison Deger, dated March 8, 2015, go to http://mondoweiss.net/2015/03/palestinian-coordination-cornerstone.
We will continue to follow this high stakes power game being played out by Israel and Palestine over the next several weeks.
The feature presentation this week is part 1 of a conversation between Max Blumenthal and Ali Abunimah held at the Roxy Theater in San Francisco. The focus of the conversation is Ali Abunimahâs latest book: The Battle for Justice in Palestine.
It is interesting to note at the outset that Max Blumenthal, who has become persona non grata in the Jewish Community since his publication of Goliath: Life and Loathing in Greater Israel is once again this week the subject of censorship on a university campus. The President of the University of Paris decided at the last minute to ban a conference that featured Max. A similar cancellation occurred a few weeks ago at a conference featuring Max in Berlin. Unable to factually challenge any allegations in his critical book, the Jewish lobby is trying to silence him. It is not working.
We are not able to present the entire conversation in one broadcast slot, so will feature half of the conversation today and the remainder in the future.
This Week In Palestine (a weekly part of Truth and Justice Radio) is an award-winning three-quarter-hour segment of news from Palestine and discussion of issues relevant to the Palestinians' struggle for freedom from Israel's brutal military occupation and colonization of their homeland. It speaks from the point of view of Palestinians and those who care about them.
It's a regular part of Truth and Justice Radio, aired Sundays 6-10am ET on WZBC 90.3FM, Newton, MA, streaming and archived for two weeks at wzbc.org; TJR's website, truthandjusticeradio.org, has a link to This Week In Palestine archives back thru 1-6-2008; earlier editions are obtainable from radio4all.net or by navigating through our playlists.
