Another in our series of classic talks by Progressive political scientist MICHAEL PARENTI. This one--one of his best--dates from 1997.

This week, in Part 2, Parenti focuses on examples of U.S. imperialism and predatory corporate capitalism--and the role of the news media in promoting both.

Parenti demolishes the myth of "the liberal media." With wit, humor, facts, and examples, he shows the US news media to be little more than the propaganda arm of the corporations and the government.
New World Notes is produced under the auspices (Latin for "average quality") of WWUH-FM, a community service of that beacon of light in darkest Connecticut, the University of Hartford.
I have condensed Part 2 a little (snipped about 5 minutes) to fit our broadcast timeslot.

You can download this installment of New World Notes also from The Internet Archive (www.archive.org). The Program Information page at archive.org is here: https://archive.org/details/NewWorldNotes376-TheHiddenIdeologyOfTheNewsMediaPart2 . From there you can download the program in MP3 and other formats. The page also has players for online listening.
