On The Commons is a weekly radio show dedicated to discussing the many issues surrounding mandatory homeowner associations, the fastest growing form of residential housing in the nation.

Proponents of the common ownership scheme tell us that the real problems are not the horror stories we hear about or live through but the fact that people are not educated. "If prospective buyers knew what they were getting into, they wouldn't find themselves facing unpleasant surprises". "If board members were properly educated they would do a better job." But is that the answer? Is it a simple matter of "educating" everyone or is it more complex and complicated than that?

On The Commons with me this week is Bob Biederman. Bob has been writing about condos since 1973. He is the editor and publisher of CondoManagement Magazine, producer and creator of the Condo Showhouse and the founding editor and publisher of the Condominium Buyers Guide. Join us On The Commons this Saturday, November 15, 2003 for what promises to be a very interesting and lively discussion.
