On the occasion of July 4th and in the aftermath of Canada Day July 1st, Back in the USSR interrogates colonialism and the settler state in North America. We are still living with the reality and legacy of empire on this continent and this can be seen in every aspect of life and society. But just as empire and the legacy of empire has been overcome in other countries around the world, it can be overcome here. We must stand in solidarity with the struggles of indigenous peoples, build internationalism and unity among working class people, and fight against the real enemy that perpetuates imperialism and injustice on this continent and throughout the world: the capitalist system.
With music by Killing Joke, Zaccheus Jackson, Damien Dempsey, Archie Roach, Terry ONeill, Georgy Sviridov, and Lee Reed.
