No one documents Israelâs apartheid society more thoroughly than Jewish Journalist and author Max Blumenthal, which is why he is persona non grata not only in Israel, but also in the United States, where the main stream media continues to ignore him and deny him a platform, or review his books. Zionists often personally attack him in the media, but because his work is so well documented, it is not questioned. Because of the quality of his work, we continue to provide a platform for his work on This Week In Palestine.
So once again today we feature a presentation by Max Blumenthal, this time speaking at the University of Paris, where, initially his speech was cancelled because of pressure put on the university by the Zionist lobby. With the charges of âcensorshipâ ringing in their ears, university authorities reversed themselves and finally allowed Max to speak.
In a moment, we'll hear Blumenthal's presentation at the University of Paris. But first, some commentary from the media:
The continuing attempts by Palestinian leaders to gain international recognition for Palestine sticks in Israelâs craw. Israelâs apartheid society is under increasing scrutiny by the international community, and it is losing the worldwide public relations battle as its discriminatory policies are exposed. So when the Vatican signed its first treaty with the Palestinians, calling for courageous decisions to end the Israeli Palestinian conflict and backing a two state solution, Israeli was upset.
We read a report recording that event from the Daily Star out of Lebanon. (See "Vatican signs first treaty with Palestine, Israel angered" at dailystar.com.lb/News/Middle-East/2015/Jun-26/303898-vatican-signs-historic-accord-with-palestine.ashx).
We keep looking for some positive signs that our Congress is breaking from its lock-step support of the Israeli lobbyâs positions which are so skillfully scripted as talking points for our Congressional representatives. Perhaps we have found one. We read Kate Gould's article 6-24-15 in Mondoweiss ("In letter to John Kerry, 19 reps stand up for Palestinian children behind bars", mondoweiss.net/2015/06/palestinian-children-behind).
This Week In Palestine (a weekly part of Truth and Justice Radio) is an award-winning three-quarter-hour segment of news from Palestine and discussion of issues relevant to the Palestinians' struggle for freedom from Israel's brutal military occupation and colonization of their homeland. It speaks from the point of view of Palestinians and those who care about them. It's a regular part of Truth and Justice Radio, aired Sundays 6-10am ET on WZBC 90.3FM, Newton, MA, streaming and archived for two weeks at wzbc.org; TJR's website, truthandjusticeradio.org, has a link to This Week In Palestine archives back thru 1-6-2008; earlier editions are obtainable from radio4all.net or by navigating through our playlists. (At this important time, TJR has been airing a lot of Palestine coverage IN ADDITION to that provided by This Week In Palestine.) We hope you'll write to us at tjr@bluebottle.com if you rebroadcast our work, or have questions or comments.
