This episode of Back in the USSR is dedicated to Andrew Loku, a 45 year old African-Canadian father of five children whose life was cruelly taken away from him by the Toronto police department on Sunday July 5th 2015. This is for Andrew Loku, for Sandra Bland, for Tamir Rice, for Freddie Grey, and all the other African-Americans and African-Canadians who have fallen victim to a racist capitalist system that perpetuates racial apartheid and has done so for far longer and far more successfully than the old regime in South Africa ever could.
With music by Rebel Diaz, Peter Gabriel, Fela Kuti, MPLA, Lee Reed, and Elvis Costello.
