Phil interviewed Zafar about the recent ceasefire in Syria, showing how the Russian military and diplomatic offensive to maintain the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Syria seems to have prevailed over the U.S. plan for regime change (despite Kerry's 'Plan B' for the partition of Syria.)

Bangash argues that the ceasefire seemed as well to foil the plans of Saudi Arabia and Turkey, whose leader, Erdogan, has left that country with no friends among its neighbours.

Bangash also briefly discusses the recent Iranian elections.
