On The Commons is a weekly radio show dedicated to discussing the many issues surrounding mandatory homeowner associations, the fastest growing form of residential housing in the nation.

The stories keep coming and they are incredible. In fact they would be hard to believe except for the fact that the same stories keep being told. The names, locations, associations, states, managers, board members and attorneys change but the stories themselves remain the same. "Isolated Incidents" we are told. Just a "rogue" homeowner. A "malcontent" who has can't obey rules. Like the stories, over the years, we have also heard the "explanations". But just how long can we turn a deaf ear to these pleas for help without connecting the dots? At what point do we dismiss the off handed, one size fits all, explanations and accept there is a problem?

On The Commons with me this week is the dynamic Representative Julio Robaina.
Seeing through the platitudes and the attempted cover ups and realizing there is a serious problem in Florida's residential neighborhoods, Rep. Robaina vowed to do something about it. After meeting with the citizens and hearing their stories, he has some ideas on how to protect his fellow Floridians. Please
join us On The Commons, this Saturday, February 14, 2004. We'll talk about what he learned and what steps he believes should be taken to end this reign of terror.
