Listening to elk bugling in the fall is an experience you won’t soon forget. Beginning in early September and ending late in October, bulls wheeze, grunt and shriek to intimidate their competitors. In Wisconsin, the last elk was shot in 1866. Twenty-five elk captured in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula were reintroduced near Clam Lake, Wisconsin in 1995. Listen to our podcast to learn more about the herd.
