Uncertainty has emerged around the outcome of the U.S. Presidential elections. The Green Party Presidential candidate raised millions of dollars in a failed bid to recount ballots in three states narrowly won by Donald Trump. The Russians have been blamed for hacking into the U.S. Electoral system in a way that favoured Republican Trump. In the lead up to the official count at the Electoral college there are calls to delay the vote until the College voters have been briefed.
This week's Global Research News Hour attempts to assess the evidence of election rigging, what involvement, if any that Russia may havce had, and what all this uncertainty may mean for the stability of the incoming administration.
Our first guest, Bob Fitrakis, is a political science professor at Columbus State Community College, editor of the Columbus Free Press, and the Green Party’s candidate for County Prosecutor in Franklin County. HE exposed election rigging in the 2004 US election in Ohio. HE speaks about the recount effort and what it revealed.
Debbie Lusignan, aka, Sane Progressive, has been blogging and speaking online about electrion rigging since the beginning of the Democratic primaries. She speaks to the Global Research News Hour about the myths and realities of election rigging and Russian involvement, media coverage and the obstacles to addressing political questions of this magnitude in a logical way.
Finally, Michel Chossudovsky looks ahead to the Electoral College vote and places the uncertainty around the eection result in a broader context of an elite power struggle.
