Steven Sahyounie in Syria explains how Saudi and Turkish support for multiple terrorist groups operating inside Syria have now backfired on the funders themselves. Recent attacks in Turkey have been carried out by those who Erdogan imported into Syria, who later returned to Turkey after engaging in sectarian combat.
Sahyounie also comments on how the 'moderate rebels' have repeatedly attacked Syrian civilians' water supply in Wadi Barada.
The fighting in Deir ez-Zor remains intense. The earlier U.S. bombing of a Syrian army position facilitated an ISIS assault, but Syrian resistance means that the area will probably not become an ISIS principality.
Regrettably, the renewed ISIS assault on Palmyra has led to further destruction of humanity's collective architectural heritage. The need for genuine international co-operation to fight sectarian extremist terrorism is more apparent than ever. But first, America and its vassals have to cast aside their desire to be master of the region.
