Mbanna Kantako, founder of Springfield, IL's Human Rights Radio, discusses recent FCC threats to shut down his radio station.
Producer: Richard Edmondson
Uploaded by: Annie Voice
"We're not worried, we're inspired," says Kantako. However, if Human Rights Radio goes down, it will become the latest in a long series of busts against micro stations nationwide. The difference here is that Kantako is viewed by many as the father of the micro radio movement. HRR, formerly known as Black Liberation Radio, has been on the air in Springfield for 11 years.
