Introduced by the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) as an important weapon in the on-going "War on Drugs," the Ion Scan is used to test visitors' belongings for traces of illegal drugs before they can enter a penitentiary.
Notorious for its inaccuracy, the Ion Scan machine routinely gives false-positive results. This show looks at the discrimination and stigma experienced by families at the prison gate, whose only crime is offering support to those behind bars.
