Episode 2024.02.00. Unpacking Why the Commonwealth Concept in Capitalism is Forbidden and Constantly Under Assault

Jan. 20, 2024, 10:21 p.m.
Class War Battlefield Podcast Episode 2024.02.00. Unpacking Why the Commonwealth Concept in Capitalism is Forbidden and Constantly Under Assault With Clips from Tclim988, Connected Sociologies, Kristina Edgar, Knowledgia & Tobia From Constitutional Crisis to discerning the Commonwealth Concept in Capitalism, these early 2024 episodes (including the ones already recorded and soon to be released), are going to tackle heavy topics. Admittedly, I don’t know enough about the Enclosure Movement, yet quick research has demonstrated how important the creation of enclosed land has been to the advancement of Capitalism, Colonialism, and Imperialism altogether. The Episode starts off with some personal house cleaning; for those who’ve been listening long enough, you probably know the podcast only ceased publication years ago; why it didn’t and a quick recap (or maybe even first telling) of CWB’s historical evolution prepares the listener for what will certainly be a year of continued growth and evolution on these Class War Airways. From there I state the summation of my research “the commonwealth concept” is always under attack from Capitalism. This basic reality was a statement Occupy Wall Street attempted to protest into the American Mind. Capitalism has a deep disdain and a toxic, even destructive, aversion to the Commonwealth – which ultimately places Capitalism at odds with the common good because in the final analysis the Commonwealth IS THE Common Good. To worry ones self about Social Welfare without being moved to create Social Wellness in political economy terms (Maslow’s Hierarchy has something to say about this); leaves both unachievable. Capitalism, which values property, commodification, and profit over all else, is driven by its benefactors and most ardent proponents; to destroy the Commonwealth, possess Common Lands and control the means toward creating the Social Welfare. This episode touches on these themes and more. Be sure to listen beyond Jackson Browne to hear a recording of all the references used in todays episode. Episode 2024.00.00. EMERGENCY EPISODE, Seal Team 6, Trump's Trump Card Over Democracy, #CivilWar2, #ItCouldHappenHere, #TrumpCoup

Jan. 20, 2024, 10:12 p.m.
Class War Battlefield Podcast Episode 2024.00.00. EMERGENCY EPISODE, Seal Team 6, Trump's Trump Card Over Democracy #CivilWar2, #ItCouldHappenHere, #TrumpCoup With Clips from All In with Chris Hayes on MSNBC, Beau of the Fifth Column, Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Ewafa & PBS Newshour The call to use Second Amendment solutions was made over a decade ago, back then such a call could be called hyperbolic because its use was so foreign to the contemporary mind that fulfilling the desire inside its utterance – to many – seemed like a nightmare unfit for modern reality. While yes, many progressive channels spoke about the use of the phrase, even in their coverage, those who spoke about it did so mockingly. Yes, there had been more modern instances of rightwing terrorism, but in 2010, 2011 and 2012, those instances were few and could be easily defined as “acts committed by crazies”. Then came Dylan Roof and Mother Emmanuel. The Black community was livid, demanding their white contemporaries wake up to the monsters in their midst; only a few really saw the disease spreading out into the masses. Then came the primary victories of Trump after years of Birtherism and an announcement speech dripping heavy with Imperially Racist language. When Trump became the 46th President, panic amongst Progressives forced many who mocked those who threatened their opposition with Second Amendment Solutions, into some deep soul searching. Questions concerning where the country was headed and how best could they right its path, resulted in few answers that felt good. Then came the pandemic and talks from Trump of canceling the election (even if these talks were presented as not serious); and then denial that he lost after he did in fact loose. From there came January 6th, 2021. Suddenly, a reality held frighteningly possible by many Black people in this country, became a stunning possibility for many white people in this country. And now with the 2024 national elections looming, with internal polls showing the Republican nominee (Trump) underperforming in many states; the true nature of this beast begins to present itself. Starting with Second Amendment Solutions, the call to arms is now being proposed in court as an example of president power – we have witnessed the move to using state organized violence against their opponents. Enter Seal Team 6 and see the entire edifice of American Republicanism crumble to the ground. Jan. 19, 2024, 6:21 p.m.
Sonic Café, that’s Lou Gramm from 1987 with Midnight Blue, the tune music reviewers have agreed was the last great single of the album-rock era. So ahh here we go again, I’m Scott Clark and this is episode 373. This time the Sonic Café features music pulled from 49 years. Listen for Broadcast, Depeche Mode, Heartless Bastards, Future Islands, Steve Hackett and the late, great John Wetton, and also, Crosby, Still, Nash and Young from way back in 1968 and of course more. Also comedian Alex Velluto will stand up for himself and others, whose identities just aren’t worth stealing. So there’s that. Finally the Sonic Café brings you another installment of News You Can’t Use, from the Onion News Network, we’ll hear a touching story from Folsom, California about the emanate failure of the Folsom dam. It seems state legislators could not agree on funding a fix for the dam, but instead approved money to erect a monument to all of the residents who will die when the dam eventually fails, ahh another story of your tax dollars at work. All that and more from that little radio café way out here in the Pacific Northwest. Here’s David Gilmour, and we’re the Sonic Café.

Roger Brandt – "The Oregon Caves"

Jan. 19, 2024, 5:58 a.m.
This program was originally broadcast on February 21, 2007. The Oregon Caves, located about 70 miles northeast of Crescent City, California in the Oregon Caves National Monument, are a place full of interest, mystery, and history. The caves were located in 1874 when Elijah Davidson chased his dog into the what appeared to be a hole in the earth. The Oregon Caves are unique, possibly due to the fact that it is one of the few cave systems located on tectonically active ground, known as a subduction zone. This uniqueness may also be due to the fact an old growth Douglas Fir forest grows directly above the caves, or the fact that they were created from what used to be a tropical reef that was pushed about 12 miles below the surface of the earth and then brought back up to its current location, and is still rising. I visited the Oregon Caves in 2006 and spoke with Roger Brandt, the manager of visitor services and education of the Oregon Caves in the summer of 2006. We began when I asked him about the Oregon Caves and what they represent. Roger Brandt recommends “Golden Days and Pioneer Ways,” by Ruth Phefferle.

Jan. 19, 2024, 4:30 a.m.
This week on the Global Research News Hour, following the victory of a party in Taiwan favouring Independence from China, and following years worth of Sinophobia cemented by the west after the COVID-19 fiasco, we are taking a look at the positive and not so positive factors that have made the world’s most populous country what it is today. In our first half hour, we are joined by author Patrick wood of Technocracy.news. HE explains how the Trilateral commission actually turned the country into a technocracy which is spreading around the world, including America itself and why this is alarming to him. Then in the second half hour, we are joined once again by journalist and independent writer Pepe Escobar who does not see China launching an attack on Taiwan following the election of the Democratic Progressive Party, and instead explains how China is on a roll while the US continues to wither away.

Darren Samuelsohn: Untangling Trump's Trials

Jan. 17, 2024, 2:29 a.m.
The self-proclaimed "greatest country on earth" is in an unfathomable position. Heavily favored to win the Republican Party's nomination for president is a man found guilty of rape and fraud in civil courts and facing nearly 100 felony counts in criminal proceedings. This week on Sea Change Radio, we speak to Darren Samuelsohn, a longtime Washington reporter from The Messenger who will give us a useful overview of the 44th President's various and sundry legal wranglings. We sort through the labyrinthian timelines of the cases, discuss how these trials paradoxically seem to solidify Trump's support among Republicans, and look at how the complex web of a former president's criminality has stretched all three branches of the United States Government paper thin.
