(Episode 2023.0E.00) Commentary on an Aspect from The Thanksgiving Eve ProLeftPodcast Episode; (Episode 2023.0E.01) A Continued Look at the ProLeftPodcast Thanksgiving Comment

Dec. 30, 2023, 11:31 p.m.
Class War Battlefield Podcast Episode 2023.0E.00 Commentary on an Aspect from The Thanksgiving Eve ProLeftPodcast Episode, We Can Learn Something from It With Clips from The Professional Left Podcast Thanksgiving week, The Professional Left Podcast posted a unique episode unlike anything they’d done before. The episode included an introduction and a free form conversation between the two hosts discussing some fears one of the hosts had concerning the upcoming 2024 presidential election. Intimate and brutally (even blisteringly) honest; Driftglass who is often the more optimistic host, let his most pessimistic inner worries fly. Listening to his comments were difficult for me, as having grown up in a very red county in NY State, I had become increasingly frustrated and fatigued by the insane logic and ignorance of those I spoke to about politics; he only added to that frustration by dragging progressives into a conversation I thought nothing of. After giving this episode some though, I recorded this in response. As the title hints, the episode was recorded around Thanksgiving, my original intent being to release it during this Christmas holiday. While I do share his concerns, I am for the time being a bit more optimistic, though I don’t blame the voters for looking elsewhere for an alternative to the Democratic President, as you will hear shortly, while Biden has done some things well as president, his “big tent party” has screwed his agenda one to many times and that has resulted in a less than stellar view of that agenda. In today’s world, people are far too busy and burdened by debts they cannot pay, to understand Joe Mansion is a different type of Democrat than Joe Biden now is and that they are different from Nancy Pelosi (which I don’t believe they are that much different), yet everyone knows Pelosi is no Progressive, she’s a moderate. Those who do know the differences are tired of the games with their lives and their only weapon is their vote. Next year I will post some episodes (already recorded) exploding some apprehension over voting for Biden, till then, enjoy. Class War Battlefield Podcast Episode 2023.0E.01 A Continued Look at the ProLeftPodcast Thanksgiving Comment, This Time with Better News for the Weary With Clips from The Humanist Report Thanksgiving week, The Professional Left Podcast posted a unique episode unlike anything they’d done before. I didn’t intend to record a second part to the first episode, but upon relistening to the original episode from the Professional Left Podcast, inspiration spring forward from my heart. Hope is something Black Africans enslaved in this country, leaned on continuously to provide the strength we needed to elevate ourselves beyond the difficult circumstances we found our physical existence mired in. Hope, though mentioned in passing in Dr. King’s speeches, was an important pillar in his philosophical arsenal. Without Hope, the Black African community during enslavement, would have been destroyed. This is what I draw upon for this episode. Please note, I skip around quite a bit in this episode (truthfully I thought about making this its own stand alone episode but it was inspired by the Pro Left Pod Episode so I left it attached to the first one). Generations is the backdrop for this episode, Old themes make a return for this episode, including the false assertion that we are an individualist society or that the voters blamed for looking elsewhere for answers to life’s challenges in the 2024 election; before making an adjustment to a propaganda victory for the right wing – explaining why we need to call the Democratic Party that name and not the Democrat Party. After this adjustment I jump into the good stuff – some comments on generational differences in politics and why I am optimistic about this upcoming presidential election. The answer to why lays in people seeing the danger in front their eyes. Enjoy.

Dr. Arthur Janov, Dr. France Janov –" Emotional Healing by Examining Initial Imprints"

Dec. 29, 2023, 6:08 a.m.
Originally Broadcast: December 20, 2006 Primal Healing: Access the Incredible Power of Feelings to Improve you Health The alleviation of human angst and emotional pain or distress is the goal of psychotherapy. Dr. Arthur Janov, together with his wife Dr. France Janov, believe the traditional, century-old method of talk therapy is not the answer. Together they direct the Primal Center in Venice, California, and Dr. Arthur Janov, who wrote, “The Primal Scream,” in the late 1960s, is the author of “Primal Healing: Access the Incredible Power of Feelings to Improve Your Health.” The Janovs assert that the best emotional healing is obtained by reaching back to the point of injury that formed an initial imprint of the pain, which often occurs in the womb or in early childhood. They believe that accessing these subconscious memories is necessary for improved physical and emotional health. We began our conversation with Dr. France Janov and Dr. Arthur Janov, recorded in mid-December 2006, from their home in Santa Monica, California, when I asked them to explain how initial imprints in a person’s life can be the cause of lifelong pain. http://www.primaltherapy.com Dr. Arthur Janov recommends, “Hostile Takeover: How big Money and Corruption Conquered Our Government and How We Can Take It Back,” by David Sirota.

Weaponizatlon of tne term "antisemitism," and what about "genocide"? Masha Gessen, Hanan Ashwari, and Raz Segal

Dec. 26, 2023, 8:18 p.m.
At the heart of Israel’s defense of its occupation and siege of Gaza is the weaponization of the term "antisemitism." Any criticism of Israel is defined as antisemitic, as well as any mention of boycotting Israel as a non-violent strategy for resisting occupation and apartheid in historic Palestine. The name calling is an attempt to divert criticism of Israel. We begin this week with a short interview conducted by Mehdi Hasan on his news show on Peacock with Russian-American journalist Masha Gessen, who recently wrote a provocative piece in the New Yorker entitled "In the Shadow of the Holocaust." Both Mehdi Hasan and Masha Gessen are facing criticism for their critical analysis both of Israel and the United States for their complicity in the genocide being conducted in Gaza. Our feature presentation today is an interview with Hanan Ashwari, longtime leader and often voice of the PLO, where she speaks out about what she rightly calls the genocide in Gaza. Sometimes we bog ourselves down in our attempts to define such words as antisemitism, apartheid, and genocide. We should not allow such sideshows to divert us from dealing with the larger subjects, occupation and colonialism, but it is worth noting that an Israeli historian and scholar on genocide has put himself out on a limb by labeling the continuous Israeli attacks on the Palestinian people, particularly the current relentless bombardment of Gaza as “classic genocide.” Israeli Associate Professor Raz Segal explains this thoroughly in the 10-16-2023 edition of Democracy Now. We hear that now.

Joseph McFadden: A Cattle Biologist Explains Feed Additives (re-broadcast)

Dec. 26, 2023, 7:25 p.m.
Did you know that India accounts for about one-third of the world’s one billion head of cattle? Last week on Sea Change Radio, we spoke to the head of Rumin8, a startup that’s working to reduce methane emissions from cattle. This week, we take a more academic approach to the cow burp problem – our guest is Dr. Joseph McFadden, a professor of cattle biology at Cornell University. We learn more about the science of enteric fermentation in ruminants, examine the various technological solutions aiming to reduce these methane emissions, and discuss the hurdles that the feed additive industry faces, and why they are particularly challenging in countries like India.

WWI - The Christmas Truce of 1914 - TUC Archives

Dec. 26, 2023, 4:21 p.m.
The Christmas Truce was an unofficial cease-fire on parts of the Western Front. Guns fell silent for one to several days. Soldiers emerged from the trenches and talked, exchanged gifts and kicked around a soccer ball. Trenches were close in some places, separated by 50 yards or less. The Story of the Christmas Truce WWI is a documentary film about this spontaneous cease-fire. Thanks to historians Peter Hart, Taff Gillingham and Robin Schaefer, and their choice of rare documentary photos, footage and archived letters from soldiers of both sides. This archival TUC Radio program first went into distribution on December 13, 2022. By coincidence on the same day that nearly 1,000 faith leaders called for a temporary ceasefire in the War in Ukraine. They wrote that a Christmas Truce can offer an opportunity for moral clarity and could be the first step toward a negotiated peace. I’m sending this program out again - one year later - when even the word “Cease Fire” in relation to the ongoing war on Gaza is banned from media and United Nations negotiations. Thanks for excerpts from the 50 minute documentary entitled “Silent Night: The Story of the Christmas Truce WWI”. The film is posted on the Timeline history channel for World History Documentaries. Date: 2020
