Stop the US-Israeli Genocide in Gaza! Israeli Historian Ilan Pappe, the Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine, the Truth about the Apartheid State of Israel and its at the time Incremental Genocide of the Palestinian People

May 22, 2024, 1:07 a.m.
In 2014, Michael Slate interviewed Ilan Pappe, Israeli historian, and author of many works, including The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine. This has renewed relevance today, in the context of the ongoing Israeli/US genocide in Gaza. The interview was conducted during an earlier Israeli assault. The horrors then inflicted on Palestinians are multiplied in daily videos on social media of the slaughter of Palestinians carried out by the Israeli army and rabid gangs of fascist so-called settlers in Gaza and the West Bank. This is a powerful truth that some try hard to cover up, and some are simply ignoring.

John Mearsheimer discusses Gaza - Interview on TRT, the Turkish public broadcast service

May 22, 2024, 12:38 a.m.
Professor Mearsheimer is an American political scientist and international relations scholar who belongs to the realist school of thought. He is the R. Wendell Harrison Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago. Mearsheimer is best known for describing the interaction between great powers as being primarily driven by the desire to achieve regional hegemony. Mearsheimer is also internationally known for the 2007 book he co-authored with Stephen Walt, entitled “The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy”. The core argument is that the Israel Lobby wields disproportionate influence over U.S. policy - both domestic and international. Mearsheimer has recently been in high demand for his comments and interviews on China, Ukraine and Gaza. Mearsheimer was invited by Paul Salvatori, Presenter & Senior Producer at the Turkish public broadcast service. They spoke on 5/18/2024. You can watch the full 30 minute conversation on YouTube under the title: John Mearsheimer discusses Gaza. DATE: May 2/18/2024

Immune To Tragedy: Gun Regulations in America (Re-Broadcast)

May 21, 2024, 6:40 p.m.
Globally suicide accounts for about 20% of all gun-related deaths. But in the United States, the country with the highest per-capita civilian gun ownership, over 60% of deaths from firearms are suicides. What accounts for this disparity? And why do efforts at gun reform continue to fail in this country? This week on Sea Change Radio, we speak with an attorney leading the charge for smarter, saner gun laws in the U.S. Robyn Thomas is the Executive Director of the Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence. We take a look at trends over the past few years, examine disputes over the interpretation of the Second Amendment, and discuss the persistent political standstill which seems immune to tragedy.

Episode 2023.0D.04. Condemning or Condoning or the Martin Luther King Approach to the Palestinian Crisis a.k.a Present Ongoing Genocide

May 21, 2024, 12:10 a.m.
Class War Battlefield Podcast Episode 2023.0D.04. Condemning or Condoning or the Martin Luther King Approach to the Palestinian Crisis a.k.a Present Ongoing Genocide With Clips from Internet Archive, United Nations Youtube Channel, Young Turks Youtube Channel, TEDx Talks, Manufacturing Intellect and Theory in 5 Youtube Channel The arguments never change. Protesting against a war results in those in favor of its execution, accusing the protesters of supporting some evil villainous creature living in the territory, amongst the people who would be or are being bombed. The creature, often said to be either Hitler revisited or Hitler 2.0; is so terrifying that extracting him (and it's always a him or a group of hims) without military weaponry is unthinkable. Way back in 1967 Dr. King faced his version of this argument, the lesson learned from his handling of its deployment shifted the “shame strategy” of those supporting the Vietnam War, instead of focusing on the creature, they began to focus more heavily on protesting the war equaling not “supporting the troops” (sound familiar?). How did Dr. King handle this assertion; in Beyond Vietnam, A Time to Break the Silence; Dr. King took the argument head on, describing in brutal detail just whom the creature was the U.S was fighting and who the actual creature was – the then President who was wholeheartedly supported by the United States. What does this have to do with today's College Campus protests? I answer this question (sort of) throughout this entire episode, mainly by explaining why protesting a war is not equatable to supporting a side in that war. In the previously mentioned speech, Dr. King explained this concept beautifully, handing down to us (those with Humanitarian Instinct running through our Brains) a fabrication, a philosophical fabrication strong enough to withstand the modern version of the red scare as it begins to reach its tentacles into the houses where these activists dwell. Something mightily profound is being revealed when a society is committed to preventing descent even before it begins. This episode dives deep into the use of Dr. King's methods for confronting these arguments. PLEASE NOTE, this was recorded about two months ago in the wake of my recovering semi-fully from COVID. Episode 2024.0A.03. Why Violence has Never Been the Answer to Protesting this System, Because, well Listen Closely

May 21, 2024, 12:05 a.m.
Class War Battlefield Podcast Episode 2024.0A.03. Why Violence has Never Been the Answer to Protesting this System, Because, well Listen Closely With Clips from MediaSanctuary Youtube Channel, Beacon Press Youtube Channel, Beau of the Fifth Column, The 700 Club Youtube Channel, Thom Hartmann, The Cato Institute Youtube Channel, Woodrow Wilson Center Youtube Channel, Democracy Now!, CBS News Youtube Channel, Activist News Network Youtube Channel, Black Power Media, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Richard Medhurst Youtube Channel This is, to date, the longest recorded episode I've produced for this podcast. Where to begin? The title actually downplays what the episode is about. Since these protests began I have been thinking about Dr. King nearly everyday. I've been thinking about his reliance on nonviolence to achieve his aims (even though saying that obscures the total truth of WHAT strategies and actions resulted in the gains achieved by the Civil Rights Movement being made, but that is for another time) I've been thinking about how he has drawn together Nonviolence as a protest method and a strategic vision wherein everyone could live peaceful lives. I've been thinking about the Christians waiting for the end times and how they have been supporting war after war after war hoping to find that magic war which will trigger the rapture. I've been thinking about all these things and more, hence this episodes length. There is a consciousness rising in this country, as I described in my first episode back (in 2023) it is rooted in a humanitarian instinct; a notion so powerful it upends all else until it can shine brightly for all to beckon towards its call. Dr. King was an early adopter of this idea, he knew this consciousness was coming forward into humanity, he was committed to helping it come along a bit quicker than its time table suggested was possible, ultimately he was partially successful in his efforts. With us now entering a new era, this consciousness is again coming forward. This consciousness produces a powerful spirit that ignites from the minds and hearts of those embodying this consciousness; this spirit free flows from person to person igniting each as it does and drawing power from the consciousness left. This is the spirit state repression seeks to interrupt (though this is not in the episode). In watching these college campuses we are seeing this spirit move unabated. Using Nonviolence enables them to construct a Nonviolent vision for the world, something I speak about towards the end of the show. University of Chicago Students Demand Divestment from Israel and End to Israeli Barbaism

May 18, 2024, 8:55 p.m.
University of Chicago students set an encampment April 29th. It was proceeded by months of protests and demonstrations demanding a public statement from the university on a ceasefire and divestment from any investments its endowment had in Israel. There was a strong sense of solidarity among Muslim, Christian and Jewish students that I saw as I walked around the encampment. Earlier there had been a presentation at which a compairison of the University's displacement of low income and black residents from the communities surrounding Hyde Park and Israel's colonial occupation of Palestine. Students were being harassed by a few crazed supporters of Israel who were held off with nonviolent deescalation techniques. Encampment policy of not talking to cops or press was in force. I spoke with two people there in solidarity who shared thoughts on the leadership demonstrated by the students and their commitment to challenge their University's and Governments complicity in the genocide being conducted by Israel in Gaza.
