In this episode of Back in the USSR, Siegfried discusses the crisis of homelessness in Guelph, Ontario as winter closes in. But this local crisis is hardly an isolated case in a capitalist society that treats so many people as "surplus", "worthless", "unprofitable", "expendable". All around the world we are facing a capitalism gone berserk, an austerity regime that cuts human services to the bone and facilitates the plunder of whole nations in the name of the Fortune 500. This is the monster that working class and oppressed people are rising up against all over the world. It is the monster they must slay through international solidarity.
Logic - I wish (Featuring Lowkey and Renee Soul)
Zaccheus Jackson - Dominoes
Victor Jara - A Cuba
Peter Garrett - It Still Matters
Billy Bragg - The World Turned Upside Down
Michael Parenti - Profit Pathology and Other Indecencies
