Culminating in the Boxing Day shooting of Jane Creba, her death sparked a moral outcry for justice. Five years since, Valarie Steele, former Jamaican Canadian Association president and Ontario Rental Charging Tribunal Judge, continues to resist the implications Creba&#226;&#128;&#153;s death has had on her community, family and life. Her stories situate Black history into the present, focusing largely on how law, enforcement, and captivity continue to be grounded on racist notions of Blackness and Black masculinity.
