She is a board member of Beyond Nuclear and of the Great Rivers Environmental Law Center in St. Louis. She has written about the dangers of nuclear energy and radioactive waste like radioactive hydrogen (tritium) and advocated for the closure of nuclear power plants and uranium facilities. She was active in the civil rights work before focusing on nuclear power.
