During this prolonged period of conflict, the Wabanaki Confederacy (including the Mi’kmaq people), some Acadians and the French resisted the British Empire’s attempts to establish control over this region. Much of the armed resistance happened to defend the border of Acadia that is now in present-day Maine. This presentation will give an overview of the warfare conducted in this region. Tod Scott, MSW is a social worker and member of the Royal Nova Scotia Historical Society. He, along with his brother Shawn Scott, have presented and published in the Journal of the Royal Nova Scotia Historical Society.
