Prominent spokespeople for the Singularity movement suggest that this metamorphosis will occur as early as 2045, with an intelligence explosion so great that human conciousness itself could be 'scanned' to create true artificial intelligence, and perhaps even immortality. Quite clearly, there are huge ethical, biological, and philosophical issues with these ideas which we discuss in the podcast. Also: the incredible Manti Te'o saga, and a positive development coming from the TSA.
