Script/Transcript for program: People's War in Nepal
In the spring of 1999, Li Onesto spent several months as a photojournalist traveling deep in the guerilla zones in Nepal. The aim of this journey was to capture the passion, voices and faces of the peasants who have been waging what they call a "people's war" since 1996. Since her return, Li has continued to study and write about the developing situation in Nepal-where the maoists now have control of the much of the countryside.
Li's 22-part series, Dispatches: Report from the People's War and her extensive interview with Prachanda, the top leader of the Communist Party of Nepal are available at www.rwor.org
