Today, March 5th at approximately 12:30pm, students from Schurr High School, in the city of Montebello, participated in a walk-out against the US war on Iraq. The administration of Schurr High School prevented the students from walking off campus by locking all gates and entrances, effectively shutting the students in. The students felt that holding a demonstration in the campus auditorium, the only alternative the principal offered, was not a true representation of their protest against the war. Staying true to their plan of participating in a walk-out, students decided to jump the fence. They then marched to Montebello High School, while being followed and intimdated by Montebello police.
